Prehistoric people knew the idea of a balance, where both weights are the same or different. This was needed when the weight of the goods exchanged varied during trade.
 The ancient unit of measurement was called the cubit. The unit of measurement was according to our SI system and was 0.523 meters long. This is represented in many ways in calculations. Fourteen of these measuring sticks have been found on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Immaterial pyramid
The measure of length is not based on the length of a part of the human body, but on the distance measured from the surface of the earth.
