The most information in the strength calculation is of the bending under a load. The most common of the load cases is the point load in the center of the support, supported at both ends. The deflection consists of the deflection caused by the point load in the middle of the profile and the profile's own weight. The calculation takes into account both loads. The calculation shown here is for HEB100 to HEB500 profiles.

f = 5 x F x L3 / 384 x E x  I

f = 0.204 cm

 

Deflection of the concentrated force;

F = 1 kN

f = F x L3 / 48 x I x E

f = 0.314 cm

 

Total deflection;

0.204 cm + 0.314 cm = 0.518 cm

518 cm / 1000 = 0.518 cm
