Location of a value within the value space
As described above, we can determine the relative position of objects, whereas their absolute or more precise location remains unknown. If the volume of a given object can be calculated, or if its value is known, the volume or value of another object can be determined based on the volume of fluid it displaces. Archimedes was the first to discover this principle, and we expand upon this observation by applying it as an equivalent proportional analysis.
Archimedes was tasked with determining the gold content of a precious object, and according to legend, he conceived the method for this measurement while sitting in a bath. This event inspired the famous exclamation "Eureka!" (meaning "I have found it").
Today, the term is widely used to describe a sudden realization or innovation, and it has also lent its name to the Heureka Science Centre, located in Vantaa. 18.9.2026*21:25 |
