STANAG 4569 is a NATO standard that defines the classification of crew protection levels for military vehicles. It establishes six levels of protection covering both ballistic threats (bullets, fragments) and blast threats (mines and improvised explosive devices).

STANAG 4569 specifies protection levels 1 to 6 for logistic and lightly armoured vehicles. The levels progress from small‑arms fire (Level 1) up to 30 mm APFSDS rounds and heavy mine detonations (Level 6).

Level 1    Ballistic

Level 2    Ballistic + Mine

Level 3    Ballistic + Mine

Level 4    Ballistic + Mine

Level 5    Ballistic    Protection against 25 mm APDS‑T at 500 m.

Level 6 Ballistic Protection against 30 mm APFSDS/AP at 500 m; extremely high protection level.

The standard defines:
- How effectively a vehicle protects its crew against specified threat levels.
- Which ammunition types and explosive charges are used in testing.
- The distances and velocities at which tests are conducted.
- A common comparative scale enabling interoperability and evaluation of vehicles across NATO member nations.
