Pile turners used in printing houses are specialised devices designed to rotate stacks of paper or sheets at various stages of production.

A pile turner rotates a sheet stack by 180°

- in order to:aerate the paper, allowing the stack to “breathe” more evenly
- reduce static electricity
- equalise print quality before downstream processing
- reveal defects, such as sheet order issues or colour inconsistencies
- accelerate material flow without manual handling

This reduces manual lifting and improves operator safety — the same benefit commonly cited for industrial stack‑turning tables.

My personal design experience covers approximately twenty different models of pile turners, including engineering design, international sales, and after‑sales support, with a total of around 800 units delivered worldwide.
