Blaise Pascal did not invent the pattern, because even the ancient Chinese have known it. However, Pascal found the usefulness of the triangle to mathematical problems.
From the point of view of EP-calculation; important is that the rows are countable up to the sixth row. After the sixth row, numbers run away from the comprehension. The sum of the half of sixth row, has a high degree of accuracy of the golden ratio 1.618.
